The 20th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2023) opened at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). April 18 and 19 were press days open to domestic and international media only, April 20 and 21 were industry trade days, and April 22 through 27 were open to the general public. The theme of this year's event was "Embracing the New Era of Automobile Industry”. More than 1,000 companies exhibited, covering a total exhibition space of more than 360,000 square meters. Thirteen indoor exhibition halls were used to create a passenger car exhibit zone, an automotive technology and supply chain zone, and a media zone.
At Auto Shanghai 2023, BYD Co., Ltd. (BYD) exhibited the entire lineup of its Dynasty and Ocean series, the Denza's MPV model, and the Yangwang series, a new high-end brand released in the second half of 2022. The Dynasty series concept car "Song L" held its world premiere, and the Ocean series "Chaser 07" was unveiled. Pre-order sales for the entry model "Seagull" began. In addition, the four-passenger "Denza D9" inaugural version was unveiled. The Yangwang model attracted much attention at the venue by showing off functions such as turning in place.
Great Wall Motor Co., Ltd. (Great Wall Motor) exhibited 30 models under five brands: Haval, WEY, ORA, TANK, and POER. Of these, more than 15 models were smart NEVs (New Energy Vehicles: battery electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, fuel cell vehicles). Haval's intelligent electric four-wheel drive SUV, the Fierce Dragon MAX, was unveiled for the first time at Auto Shanghai 2023. The WEY brand exhibited Great Wall Motor's latest flagship NEV, the 6-seater Lanshan DHT-PHEV, and the new flagship MPV, the Gaoshan DHT-PHEV. The TANK brand exhibited the TANK 500 Hi4-T and the TANK 400 Hi4-T equipped with Great Wall Motor's latest hybrid technology. Under the POER brand, the POER Shanhai PHEV/HEV, a high-performance HV full-size pickup truck, was unveiled. Also on display was the CYBERP!CKUP, which adopts a 6×6 super off-road platform.
