Summary

  From March 22 - April 2, 2023, Thailand's 44th Bangkok International Motor Show (44th BIMS), occupying an exhibition space of over 170,960 square meters, was held under the theme concept of "Colorful Experience" to reflect a variety of experiences through the endless development of automotive technology, especially the coming of EVs (electric vehicles). Well-known international automotive and motorcycle brands participated at the event, including Ford, BMW, MINI, Mercedes-Benz, Great Wall Motors, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Maserati, Peugeot, Jeep, Toyota, Lexus, BYD, MG, Mazda, Suzuki, Isuzu, Hyundai, Hyundai Bus & Truck, Audi, Honda, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, NETA, Volvo, Porsche, Bentley, Kia, Subaru, Thai Honda Manufacturing, Suzuki Motosales, Yamaha, BMW Motorrad, Harley-Davidson, Ducati, Triumph, Alpha Volantis, Kawasaki, and Royal Enfield. This event is expected help stimulate the country's overall economy by no less than THB 50 billion.

  The highlighted models of this year's show included: Mitsubishi XRT Concept, Honda CR-V, Toyota LPG HEV Taxi Concept, Prius HEV Concept, Hyundai Stargazer, Hyundai Staria Premium, Peugeot 408 PHEV, BYD Dolphin, BYD Seal, MG ES, MG Maxus 9, GWM TANK 500, Lexus RZ 450e, Ford Ranger Stormtrak, BMW XM, Mercedes-Benz EQB 250 AMG Line, Mazda MX-30, Suzuki Swift GL NEXT, and more.

  According to the event organizer, Grand Prix International PCL, the highest public health standards and measures are maintained at the Show this year. All visitors are still required to wear a face mask at all times when visiting the show.

  Moreover, “TikTok Motor Show” has been introduced to add more channels for customers to access interesting content about the show.

  When compared with the 43rd BIMS, the show's organizer projected to see around 15-20% growth this year, in terms of the number of visitors and the number of total bookings (of both cars and motorcycles), supported by several factors, including the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions, the auto industry showing signs of “return to normalcy”, as well as the arrival of new electric mobility models.
