Tokyo Motor Show 2011: European OEMs

Summary
This Report will outline the foreign (mostly European) OEMs' exhibits in the 42nd Tokyo Motor Show (held from December 3 to 11, 2011). 25 foreign brands of passenger cars, commercial vehicles and motorcycles from 21 overseas OEMs participated in the Show. Highlight will be shed on passenger cars in this report.
European exhibits were from Daimler, BMW, VW, Porsche, Renault, PSA, and Jaguar Land Rover. With no show by US OEMs in the Tokyo Motor Show, only GM presented a concept model in the Show's themed exhibition. Hyundai exhibited a motor coach, which will be launched in the Japanese market.
First, this Report will introduce concept cars; next, the models exhibited in SMART MOBILITY CITY 2011 themed exhibition (next generation vehicles and surrounding social systems), and last, their new models and vehicles which will come onto markets. These OEMs showed a wide range of products including futuristic concept cars, new model vehicles with both excellent engine performance and fuel efficiency, EVs (Electric Vehicles), HVs (Hybrid Vehicles), and PHVs (Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles), which eye on the Japanese market, and will be commercially available.
