NEV (New Energy Vehicle) Industry Analysis

This report is based on the “New Energy Vehicle (NEV) (electric vehicles [EVs], plug-in hybrid vehicles [PHVs], and fuel cell vehicles [FCVs]) Industry Research Report” prepared by the Chinese consulting firm Key Allies; the report was edited and translated by MarkLines.

According to statistics of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), sales of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in May 2021 reached 215,000 units. This is an increase of 165.8% compared to May last year and an increase of 5.4% compared to April 2021.

Sales in the January-May period totaled 943,000 units. This is an increase of 225.2% over the same period of last year and shows an upward trend.

By vehicle type, the proportion of New Energy Passenger Cars continues to grow, reaching 95% of the total, far ahead of buses and trucks.
