On March 20, a project of Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co., Ltd. (DPCA) on New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) and an industrial park for battery, motor, and electronic controller components was officially signed at an event in Chengdu.

Located in Longquanyi District, this project is aimed at transforming and upgrading DPCA Chengdu Branch to an NEV manufacturer. For the first phase, three Dongfeng Motors Corporation in-house developed NEVs will be introduced, and the existing land will be used to build an industrial park for NEV battery, motor, and electronic controller components. Upon implementation, the project will increase Chengdu’s NEV production and expand the NEV industrial cluster scale.

On March 22, Dongfeng Forthing released official images of the new Xinghai S7 battery electric coupe.

The Xinghai S7 is positioned as a “family coupe” for young people. Adopting the new “interstellar fluid aesthetics” design concept, the vehicle comes with features such as comet-styled split front light clusters, star trail-styled transverse LED taillights, a 3.65m-long dome-shaped all-glass sunroof, and a liftback tailgate. The exterior balances senses of toughness and softness.

On March 19, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd. (DFCV) signed a strategic agreement with Chongqing Renewable Resources Group Co., Ltd. (CRG).

The two parties will co-create a demonstration project on green and intelligent logistics and partner for operations such as dismantling and recycling of vehicles; reuse of waste and old materials; and cascade utilization of batteries.

CRG, a leader in China’s resource regeneration field, is engaged in industries such as renewable resources; scrapped vehicles; processing and manufacturing of aluminum profiles; and recycling of power batteries.
