Tesla begins selling Chinese-made cars with 6.1% tariff rate in Canada
After a January 2026 visit to Beijing, Canadian Prime Minister Carney reduced the tariff on Chinese-made EVs from 100% to 6.1%, with a quota of 49,000 vehicles allowed for the first half of 2026.
