In the new car sales rankings by model in Japan in the fiscal year that ended in March 2023 (FY 2022), the Honda “N-Box” ranked 1st for 2 consecutive fiscal years. The N-Box also earned the top position 9 times in monthly rankings. Thanks to high popularity and stable vehicle supply, the margin between the sales of the N-Box and the 2nd-ranked Toyota “Yaris” was about 30,000 units. Out of top 10 best-selling models, sales of 8 models increased on a year-over-year (y/y) basis. The Toyota “Sienta”, which was fully redesigned in August 2022, became one of the top-ranking models for the first time in 3 years. The Suzuki “Wagon R” also ranked in the top 10 models for the first time in 4 years thanks to the popularity of the sliding door version.
