-According to a report by GlobalData as of Q4 2025, global light vehicle sales are forecast to increase by 2.1% YoY to 92.13 mn.

-The global LV market has performed well in 2025, not only by comparison to the 2024 result, but also considering the turbulent nature of the macroeconomic picture, in particular the turbulence created in spring when the US administration announced increased tariffs on trading partners. For the first 11 months of 2025, global volumes were up over 4% YoY, putting the market on course for the best result of the decade, even beating the pre-pandemic 2019 result.

-Over one million units have been added to the expectations of global sales for both 2025 and 2026, from three months ago. While there is some improvement in market conditions in Europe and Asia, the bulk of the reason for greater optimism relates to the North American market, where incoming actual data has exceeded expectations. The market has continued to post solid selling rates, helped by average vehicle transaction prices staying stable, even in a higher tariff environment than seen at the start of 2025.
