Tentative Ford-UAW agreement includes closure of Romeo plant

Additional details regarding the proposed labor contract between Ford Motor Company and the United Auto Workers (UAW) were revealed on October 31, and included the closure of the Romeo Engine Plant in Michigan.
The closure of the Romeo Engine Plant is not expected to result in any job losses, as all hourly employees working at the Romeo Engine Plant will be offered jobs at the Van Dyke Transmission Plant, located approximately 15 miles away.
Workers also have an option to take a buyout. The Romeo Engine Plant primarily focuses on building eight-cylinder engines for Ford’s larger vehicle models.
