FCA, Nemak create new aluminum-copper alloy for engines
On July 2, FCA announced a new aluminum alloy, known as 16HT or ACMZ, which it developed with casting supplier Nemak as a partner along with federally funded Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee, which uses copper rather than silicon and retains its strength up to 300 degrees Celsius.
