Argentina vehicle sales, production taper as exports grow in October

On November 3, Argentina’s Association of Automobile Manufacturers (ADEFA) announced that while wholesale sales of 74,416 vehicles in October were 2.3% less than in September, they were 32.0% higher than in October 2016.
Between January and October, wholesale sales accounted for 714,864 vehicles, an increase of 21.8% compared with the same period in 2016.
Argentina’s production of 43,854 vehicles in October was 6.6% less than in September and 15.9% more than October 2016.
Between January and October, the country produced a total of 393,650 vehicles, 2.1% more than the 385,727 units produced in the first ten months of 2016.
In October, 21,176 vehicles were exported, an increase of 3.0% compared to September and 51.7% more than in October 2016.
A total of 172,263 vehicles were exported in the first ten months of 2017, 15.1% more than during the same period in 2016.
