French car sales fall 2.9% in February

On March 1, the French Automobile Manufacturers Committee (CCFA) announced that February new car sales in France of 161,885 units had decreased 2.9% from the same month one year ago.
February domestic brand sales of 84,333 units had decreased 5.8% compared to the same month a year ago, capturing a market share of 52.1%.
Renault Group sales of 39,981 units decreased 3.8% (24.7% share) while PSA Group sales of 44,348 units decreased 7.4% (27.4% share).
Foreign brand sales in February of 77,552 units increased 0.4% (47.9% share).
Volkswagen Group sales of 19,064 units decreased 6.5% (11.8% share), while BMW Group sales of 6,459 units decreased 2.8% (4.0% share).
Daimler Group sales of 5,087 units increased 6.2% (3.1% share).
Ford sales of 7,634 units decreased 1.5% (4.7% share), while FCA Group sales of 6,814 units increased 6.0% (4.2% share).
Toyota Group sales of 8,533 units in February increased 25.2% (5.3% share).
Nissan Group sales of 5,731 units decreased 18.1% (3.5% share).
Sales of light commercial vehicles (LCV) increased by 4.2% in February to 34,616 units.
Heavy commercial vehicle (5 tons or more) sales in February of 3,523 units increased 1.3% from the same month a year ago.
