Spanish car sales increase 10.7% in January

On February 1, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations of 84,515 units in January 2017 represented an increase of 10.7% over January 2016.
SEAT sales increased 52.3% to 6,523 units, Opel sales increased 0.5% to 7,297 units, Renault sales decreased 6.3% to 4,175 units, and Peugeot sales increased 4.3% to 5,749 units, while Volkswagen brand sales were flat at 6,625 units compared to January 2016.
The best-selling cars in January 2017, in order of popularity, were the Seat Ibiza, Seat Leon, VW Golf, Citroen C4, Opel Corsa and Dacia Sandero.
Of all vehicles sold in January, diesel vehicles had a 52.7% market share, gasoline vehicles had a 42.0% share, and hybrid car (HV) and electric vehicles (EV) combined had a 5.3% share.
