Supply Chain: e-Axle / Traction Motor

North America E-axle suppliers Distribution

North America's E-Axle supply base is structured through a regional division of roles, with the U.S. serving as the hub for development and technology, and Mexico as the manufacturing base. In the U.S., R&D functions of OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers are concentrated in automotive hubs such as Michigan and Ohio, while in Mexico, electrified powertrain production has been established in regions such as Coahuila and Nuevo León, supported by USMCA requirements. Canada, although limited in scale, plays a role in EV technology development and commercial vehicle electrification.

Supply Chain: Honda City (India)

Honda's City is a C-segment sedan. The fifth-generation model has been produced in India since June 2020 at Honda's Tapukara plant in Rajasthan. The model is also manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia.

As with other vehicles produced by Honda Cars India, the City has a relatively high reliance on Japanese suppliers. Major suppliers include Yutaka Giken for exhaust systems, TS Tech for seats, Denso for HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning) systems, and Motherson Yachiyo Automotive Systems for fuel tanks.

Statistics: Japan's vehicle production

Japan's production rises 7.4% in June, driven by increased output from Toyota, Mazda, Honda, and Nissan; Honda and Nissan, in particular, saw growth exceeding 30%. Overall production surpassed the level of the same month last year, supported by the strong performance of major manufacturers.
