Indonesia Investment Minister met Foxconn chairman on October 22 to follow up a virtual meeting held in August on the manufacturer’s investment interest. Foxconn was interested in developing the electric car, electric scooter and EV battery industries in Indonesia, while also aiming to partner with local small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The meeting was also attended by a Taiwanese electric scooter with swappable batteries developer Gogoro, who is currently partnering with Foxconn. Gogoro said it started in Taiwan and saw that Indonesia was the right place for the firm to develop electric scooters.
