On April 17, Faraday Technology Corporation, a leading provider of ASIC design services and IP solutions, announced it is leveraging the latest Arm Automotive Enhanced (AE) technology, licensing the Cortex-A720AE IP to drive the development of AI-enabled vehicles ASICs (application-specific integrated circuit), with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality.

By joining the Arm automotive ecosystem, Faraday continues to drive innovation by leveraging the first high-performance Armv9 A-class CPU for automotive, the Cortex-A720AE, to address the demands of software-defined vehicles. 

The company offers a comprehensive range of ASIC solutions, including total 3DIC packaging, Neoverse CSS design, FPGA-Go-ASIC, and design implementation services. Faraday not only has its IP portfolio but also possesses extensive expertise in IP integration, enabling the swift utilization of third-party IPs for SoC design.

MAHLE Behr GmbH & Co. KG, a subsidiary of Mahle GmbH, and Hella GmbH & Co. KGaA (FORVIA HELLA) completed the sale of their 50:50 joint venture Behr-Hella Thermocontrol (BHTC) to AUO Corporation.

The parties had signed an agreement to sell the shares on October 2, 2023, with an enterprise value of EUR 600 million.

BHTC, headquartered in Lippstadt (Germany), is a leader in the field of climate control and a specialist in HMI (Human-Machine-Interface) system solutions. It currently has around 3,100 employees worldwide and generated sales of EUR 634 million in 2023.

On March 4, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer began a five-day investment mission in South Korea and Taiwan, announcing also the opening of the Michigan Taiwan Office, focusing on securing investments in key industries including automotive, semiconductors, renewable energy and advanced manufacturing.

During the Michigan Taiwan Office opening reception, the governor announced three investment projects by Taiwanese firms:

•    Tung Thih Electronics (TTE), a Taiwanese maker of automotive radars systems, will expand its R&D and manufacturing operations at a new location in Northville, Michigan. 
•    TYC Americas, a Taiwanese maker of automotive lighting, will expand its R&D presence at a new location in Wixom, Michigan.
•    Sumeeko, a Taiwanese maker of automotive fasteners, will expand its manufacturing operations at a new location in Fraser, Michigan.

While in Taiwan, the governor will meet with companies including Delta Electronics and AUO Corporation, as well as Taiwan authorities to discuss investment opportunities and partnerships.
