Business Overview

-The Company is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of metallic substrates for catalytic converters and metallic diesel particulate filters for vehicles.

-The Company is a former 50-50 subsidiary of GKN plc and Continental AG. In July 2014, Continental acquired GKN's shares, making the Company a wholly owned subsidiary and integrating it into Continental's Powertrain Division. The products will continue to be traded under the Emitec brand name.

1986 Founded as a joint venture of Siemens and GKN.
1997 American plant in Fountain Inn, South Carolina started to produce for the North American market.
2001 Started the operation in a new plant in Thuringia, Germany.
2006 Opened a new production plant in Pune, India
2007 Opened a new production facility in Eisenach to expand the production of DPF for retrofitting.
2010 Acquired the Danish company Grundfos NoNOx A/S. which produces SCR systems for truck and bus diesel engines
Sep. 2012 Opened Faulquemont factory in France
Jul. 2014 Continental AG acquired 50% shares from GKN, making the Company a wholly-owned subsidiary and integrating into Continental's Powertrain Division.
2014-2015 Changed its company name to Continental Emitec GmbH from Emitec Gesellschaft fuer Emissionstechnologie mbH.
