Business Overview
-The Company is a leading Japanese semiconductor manufacturer of automotive micro-computers.
-In 2002, NEC's semiconductor business, excluding the general-purpose DRAM business, was spun off as NEC Electronics, which merged with Renesas Technology, the semiconductor business of Hitachi, Ltd. and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, and changed its name to Renesas Electronics in 2010.
