Business Overview

-Rane group is one of the major suppliers of automotive products and marketing solutions. The Company provides Steering and Suspension systems, Friction materials, Valve train components, Occupant safety systems, Light metal casting products and Connected mobility solutions for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, farm tractors, two-wheelers and three-wheelers sectors. It has 31 manufacturing locations across India and Mexico.

-In FY 2024-25, Rane Brake Lining Ltd. and Rane Engine Valve Ltd. amalgamated with Rane (Madras) Ltd. (RML), enhancing RML’s portfolio with brake and engine valve products and reinforcing its aftermarket operations. It has also acquired 100% stake in Rane Steering Systems Pvt. Ltd. (RSSL), previously a joint venture with NSK Ltd., Japan. RSSL specializes in Electric Power Steering (EPS) and Manual Steering Columns (MSC) for passenger and commercial vehicles.

History

1929	Rane was founded as a distributor of automobiles & parts.
1959	Diversified into manufacturing and established plant for IC Engine Valves.
1960	Established facility to make Tie Rod Ends.
1964	Started manufacture of Friction Material.
1974	Established Kar Mobiles Limited to manufacture Automotive and Large Valves.
1975	Started manufacture of Manual Steering Gears.
1987	Established JV with TRW for Power Steering Systems.
1991	Established JV with JMA for distribution of auto components.
1995	TRW JV also commenced manufacture of occupant restraints. Established JV with NSK for Energy Absorbing Steering Columns. Founded Rane Institute for Employee Development.
2005	Invested in High Pressure Die Casting products.
2007	Commissioned new facilities in Haryana and Uttaranchal.
2008	Rane NSK Steering Systems Ltd. commenced manufacturing of electric power steering.
2009	Rane NSK Steering Systems Ltd. established its third plant in Pantnagar, Uttarakhand.
2013	Rane Diecast Ltd. was integrated into Rane (Madras) Ltd.
May 2014	Merged Kar Mobiles Limited into Rane Engine Valve Limited.
Aug. 2015	Inaugurated new airbag manufacturing plant located adjacent to its seatbelt plant in Singaperumal Koil, Chennai,
Feb. 2016	Started rack & pinion manufacturing facility at its Varanavasi plant
Aug. 2017	Acquisition of 70% shareholding in Bengaluru-based Telematics4U Services
Apr. 2018	Rane TRW Steering Systems, breaks ground for their new facility at Siruganur, Trichy
Oct. 2018	Divestment of entire 48.97% equity shareholding held by the Company in JMA Rane Marketing Limited (JMA Rane), a joint venture company.
Feb. 2019	Rane TRW Steering Systems, started a new facility for occupant safety products at Tiruchirapalli (Trichy), Tamil Nadu.
Nov. 2021	Rane (Madras) Limited has done the acquisition of Yagachi Technologies Private Limited “Steering and Components Division” (SCD)
