1953 Founded in the Netherlands as a Dutch public company with limited liability under the name Philips Semiconductors.
2006 Sold to a consortium of private equity investors and changed name to NXP.
Aug. 2010 Listed on the NASDAQ Global Select Market.
Mar. 2015 Entered into a definitive agreement of merger with Freescale Semiconductor, Ltd. The merger consummated in December 2015.
Oct. 2016 Announced a definitive agreement with Qualcomm Incorporated under which Qualcomm will acquire the company.
Jan.  2017 Announced a long-term strategic partnership with Geely Automobile Group.
Jun. 2017 Tied-up with Elektrobit (EB), a developer of embedded and connected technology solutions for the automotive industry.
