-Sensing systems, which include Millimeter Wave Radar, are key components of ADAS. Leading technologies used in such systems are developed here, and evaluative analysis techniques and simulation technologies are established. It works closely with other Fujitsu Group companies.

-The center consists of an electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing facility, for evaluating and researching electromagnetic wave noise that affects electronic equipment, along with a test ground, for driving vehicles around various test courses to conduct a wide range of tests that include tracking performance and reception sensitivity.

-The center consists of Studio Forte, at which original music software is developed for car audio systems, an in-car acoustics measuring system for conducting various in-car tests, an anechoic room used for analyzing noise generated from precision mechanisms, and other facilities. Product development

-On February 17, 2017, NTT DoCoMo Inc. demonstrated its AI Taxi technology for meeting supply and demand for taxi services utilizing artificial intelligence (AI). DoCoMo reported that the demonstration, which started in June 2016, proved that the technology is able to predict taxi demand with high accuracy. The company, which is aiming to put the AI Taxi service into commercial use in the second half of fiscal year 2017, will provide a service that predicts the movement of people and vehicles in real-time by combining demographic data taken using its mobile phone network and AI technologies. Fujitsu Limited will provide the Spatiowl mobility service platform and Fujitsu Ten Limited a taxi dispatching service. A field demonstration was launched in December 2016 using 12 taxis provided by Tokyo Musen. (From an article in the Nikkan Jidosha Shimbun on February 18, 2017)

-The Company will strengthen its Vehicle Information and Communications Technology (VICT) business, which produces and sells products like millimeter wave radar systems. Its VICT Division, which was newly established in April 2016, will lead the development of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADASs) and new technologies for autonomous vehicles. Currently, the VICT Division contributes 15% of the company's overall sales. The company is aiming to increase the percentage to 35% by around 2020, which will make the division one of the company's key businesses on a par with infotainment systems and electronic control units.
