Business Highlights

Start Mass Production

-ADVICS Yunfu Automobile Parts Co., Ltd., ADVICS’ new subsidiary in Yunfu, Guangdong, started mass production in October, 2013. The subsidiary produces disc brake components and motorcycle brakes. It expects to supply about 100,000 automotive brake rotors and calipers per month mainly for Nissan-affiliated companies. CNY 150 million was invested in the first phase of the construction project to complete a plant with a total floor area of 18,000 square meters. The facility is expected to manufacture products worth CNY 600 million per year. (From news releases issued by multiple sources on October 30, 2013)

Off the Production Line

-AW Suzhou Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Aisin AW, started producing automatic transmissions for GAC Toyota on November 26, 2013. (From a press release, November 26, 2013)

-AW Suzhou Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Aisin AW, released its first automatic transmission system off its production line on September 24, 2013. The product will be supplied to Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor. (From a press release on September 24, 2013)

Awards

-Aisin AW Co., Ltd. has received the Outstanding Cooperation Award from Guangzhou Automobile Group Motor Co., Ltd., (GAGM) for its contribution to the development of an automatic transmission (AT) for GAGM's own brand vehicles. Investment

Domestic Incestment

-Takaoka Lioho (Yunfu) Industries Co., Ltd., which is a subsidiary of Aisin Takaoka Co., Ltd., held an opening ceremony in Foshan, Guangdong Province on May 14, 2013. A total of CNY 360 million was invested in the first phase of the construction project. The new facility, which will produce engine parts and brake components, plans to increase the number of its product items to 20 by the end of 2013. The subsidiary will be capable of producing 2,500 tons of cast parts and 300,000 units of machined components each month. (From a press release on May 15, 2013)

-Aisin AW announced that the company and FAW will invest an additional USD 180 million in Tianjin AW Automatic Transmission Co., Ltd., their joint-venture company in Tianjin, China. The fund will be used in the construction of an additional factory to expand the joint venture’s production capacity. The new facility will have a total floor area of 28,000 square meters on 46,000 square meters of land. When the construction is completed, it will produce automatic transmission parts and supply them to AW Tianjin Automotive Parts Co., Ltd. (From a press release on March 28, 2013)

-ADVICS Yunfu Automobile Parts Co., Ltd., Advics’ subsidiary in Yunfu, Guangdong, broke ground for its new plant on July 18, 2012. Advics is investing approximately 150 million yen in the facility, which is due completion in the first half of 2013 to manufacture brake products for Toyota and other Japanese automakers.
