The company announced that it has developed a noise-control sheet that mitigates electromagnetic interference. Riken jointly developed an alloy powder that has high saturation magnetic flux density and excellent soft magnetic characteristics with Tohoku University by utilizing its group companies' know-how in electromagnetic compatibility products like radio frequency anechoic chambers and electromagnetic wave absorption material. By using the alloy powder, Riken improved the noise reduction effect more than 20% compared to conventional products. The new noise-control sheet is applicable for up to 15 GHz and its thickness is only 25 micrometers. It has a high degree of size flexibility and can support various electronic devices. Riken has already started delivery of sample products, and will start selling the sheet as a noise-control product for automotive electric devices and information communications equipment from the fiscal year that ends in March 2019. (From an article in the Nikkan Jidosha Shimbun on October 24, 2017)
