Partnerships

-On August 27, 2012, with an eye to developing a new technology for the automotive interior systems with upgraded soundproof functions for next-generation vehicles, Toyota Boshoku Corporation announced it had signed a memorandum of understanding at the end of July with a Switzerland-based Autoneum and Nihon Tokushu Toryo to establish collaborative relations. The tie-up, which is the first for Toyota Boshoku to work together with partners outside of the Toyota group, is purported to develop technology to improve soundproof performance, primarily of electrified vehicles, because the cabin is prone to a lot of noise from the road, wind and electric motor, and driving comfort could be damaged, while running on battery. Therefore, a higher degree of noise reduction performance inside the cabin will be considered necessary in the future. The three partners are vowing together to provide a comfortable and quiet cabin space for future vehicles. (From an article in the Nikkan Jidosha Shimbun on August 28, 2012)
