Italian passenger car sales decrease 1.2% in May  
On June 3, the Italian automobile manufacturers association (ANFIA) announced that passenger car registrations of 197,307 units in May decreased 1.2% over the same month in 2018.
Domestic brand sales decreased 6.0% in May with a 26.5% market share, while foreign manufacturer sales increased 0.6% with a 73.5% market share.
In May, Fiat brand registrations decreased 1.4% (17.7% market share), Volkswagen brand registrations increased 5.0% (9.6% share), Renault registrations decreased 14.3% (6.6% share), Ford registrations decreased 6.9% (6.0% share), Opel registrations increased 5.6% (5.4% share), and Peugeot registrations decreased 1.6% (5.2% share) from a year ago.
The best-selling cars in May, in order of popularity, were the Fiat Panda, Fiat 500, Renault Clio, Lancia Ypsilon and Fiat 500X.
The foreign car distributors association (UNRAE) announced that diesel passenger car sales in May decreased 20.2% (41.8% share), gasoline-powered car sales increased 22.5% (43.7% share), hybrid car (HV), plug-in hybrid car (PHEV) and REx combined sales increased 34.7% (5.4% share), and electric vehicle (EV) sales increased 91.6% (0.6% share).
Private car sales in May decreased 7.6% to 104,661 units (52.9% share), fleet sales increased 22.1% to 62,289 units (31.5% share), and business sales decreased 15.4% to 30,926 units (15.6% share).

Italian passenger car sales increase 1.5% in April
On May 2, the Italian automobile manufacturers association (ANFIA) announced that passenger car registrations of 174,412 units in April increased 1.5% over the same month in 2018.
Domestic brand sales decreased 4.0% in April with a 25.5% market share, while foreign manufacturer sales increased 3.5% with a 74.5% market share.
In April, Fiat brand registrations decreased 0.4% (17.0% market share), Volkswagen brand registrations increased 5.4% (8.7% share), Ford registrations decreased 8.1% (6.3% share), Peugeot registrations increased 6.8% (5.8% share), Opel registrations increased 21.7% (5.7% share) and Renault registrations decreased 23.5% (5.4% share) from a year ago.
The best-selling cars in April, in order of popularity, were the Fiat Panda, Lancia Ypsilon, Dacia Duster, Fiat 500 and Fiat Tipo.
The foreign car distributors association (UNRAE) announced that gasoline-powered car sales in April increased 32.7% (44.8% share), diesel passenger car sales decreased 22.5% (40.5% share), hybrid car (HEV), plug-in hybrid car (PHEV) and REx combined sales increased 29.2% (5.4% share), and electric vehicle (EV) sales increased 355.9% (0.7% share).
Private car sales in April increased 2.2% to 94,414 units (54.0% share), fleet sales increased 22.7% to 56,840 units (32.5% share) and business sales decreased 30.6% to 23,686 units (13.5% share).

On April 1, the Italian automobile manufacturers association (ANFIA) announced that passenger car registrations of 193,662 units in March decreased 9.6% over the same month in 2018.
Domestic brand sales decreased 19.1% in March with a 25.1% market share, while foreign manufacturer sales decreased 5.9% with a 74.9% market share.
In March, Fiat brand registrations decreased 21.5% (16.3% market share), Volkswagen brand registrations decreased 3.5% (9.1% share), Ford registrations decreased 20.8% (6.3% share), Renault registrations decreased 12.2% (6.3% share), Opel registrations decreased 1.2% (5.7% share), and Peugeot registrations decreased 5.5% (5.6% share) from a year ago.

Italian passenger car sales decrease 2.4% in February
On March 1, the Italian automobile manufacturers association (ANFIA) announced that passenger car registrations of 177,825 units in February decreased 2.4% over the same month in 2018.
Domestic brand sales decreased 7.5% in February with a 25.2% market share, while foreign manufacturer sales decreased 0.6% with a 74.8% market share.
In February, Fiat brand registrations decreased 18.2% (14.9% market share), Volkswagen brand registrations decreased 1.9% (8.9% share), Ford registrations decreased 11.2% (6.4% share), Peugeot registrations decreased 1.9% (6.3% share), Renault registrations decreased 0.4% (5.5% share), and Opel registrations increased 14.9% (5.4% share) from a year ago.
The best-selling cars in February, in order of popularity, were the Fiat Panda, Lancia Ypsilon, Jeep Compass, Volkswagen Polo, and Citroen C3.
The foreign car distributors association (UNRAE) announced that diesel passenger car sales in February decreased 22.6% (45.1% share), gasoline-powered car sales increased 29.3% (42.6% share), hybrid car (HV), plug-in hybrid car (PHEV) and REx combined sales increased 42.7% (5.3% share), and electric vehicle (EV) sales increased 1.6% (0.1% share).
Private car sales in February increased 11.4% to 103,420 units (58.2% share), fleet sales decreased 17.3% to 44,904 units (25.2% share), and business sales decreased 19.4% to 29,523 units (16.6% share).

Italian car sales fall 7.5% in January 2019
On February 1, the Italian automobile manufacturers association (ANFIA) announced that passenger car registrations of 164,864 units in January decreased 7.5% over the same month in 2018.
Domestic brands in Italy showed an decrease in sales of 21.3% in January with a 24.4% market share, while foreign manufacturers showed a 2.0% decrease and a 75.6% market share.
In January, Fiat brand registrations decreased 29.2% (14.8% market share), Volkswagen brand registrations increased 10.6% (9.0% share), Peugeot registrations increased 4.1% (6.9% share), Ford registrations decreased 11.2% (6.8% share), Opel registrations increased 10.5% (5.8% share), and Citroen registrations increased 1.6% (5.6% share) from a year ago.
The best-selling cars in January, in order of popularity, were the Fiat Panda, Lancia Ypsilon, Citroen C3, VW T-Roc, and Dacia Duster.
The foreign car distributors association (UNRAE) announced that diesel passenger car sales in January decreased 31.4% (41.1% share), gasoline-powered car sales increased 27.8% (45.1% share), hybrid car (HV), plug-in hybrid car (PHEV) and REx combined sales increased 17.8% (5.1% share), and electric vehicle (EV) sales increased 9.3% (0.2% share).
Private car sales in January increased 3.7% to 106,416 units (64.3% share), fleet sales decreased 17.8% to 33,665 units (20.3% share), and business sales decreased 29.7% to 25,455 units (15.4% share).
