Turkish vehicle sales up 10.1% and production down 5.2% in January
The Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD) announced that Turkish vehicle sales of 77,590 units in January 2026 represented a 10.1% increase over January 2025. Passenger vehicles sales increased 9.1% to 61,055 units, commercial vehicles sales increased 13.9% to 16,535 units. Commercial vehicles have seen double-digit growth compared to the same month last year for two consecutive months, and passenger cars sales also continue to perform well.
According to the data from Automotive Distributors Association (ODD), Renault sales were 9,247 units in January (12.3% market share), Toyota sales were 8,700 units (11.5% share), VW sales were 6,580 units (8.7% share), Fiat sales were 6,133 units (8.1% share) and Ford sales were 5,339 units (7.1% share).
In passenger vehicles, gasoline-engine vehicles decreased 2.4% to 26,671 units (43.7% share), diesel-engine vehicles decreased 25.6% to 4,203 units (6.9% share), hybrid vehicles including PHEVs and MHEVs increased 13.4% to 18,774 units (30.7% share), EVs including range extender EVs increased 81.6% to 11,304 units (18.5% share).
Turkiye’s production of 99,247 units in January was down 5.2% YoY.
Vehicle imports were up 5.1% to 50,036 units and vehicle exports were down 17.2% to 64,725 units in January.
