According to statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) in September 2021, up 160.2% year-over-year (y/y) and 11.7% month-over-month (m/m) to 356,000 units.

The momentum of the sharp increase in August has yet to slow down, and the number of units sold this month reached a record high. The substitution effect on the gasoline car market has been realized, and the shift to NEVs in the automobile market is accelerating.

By vehicle type, new energy passenger cars accounted for 95.4% of total sales. As the overall market expands, the share of passenger cars continues to grow.
