Introduction
Automotive lighting is a group of products that have both a function as a safety component required by law to be installed in vehicles traveling on public roads and a decorative feature that constitutes the exterior design that determines the popularity of a model.
This report deals with five categories of automobile lighting units: the headlights; AFS, ADB, and AHB (Adaptive Front-Lighting System, Adaptive Driving Beam, and High Beam Control, respectively); rear lamps and rear combination lamps; high-mounted stop lamps; and electronic control devices (ECUs, electrical ballasts, etc.). Reflectors, turn signals, fog lamps, license plate lamps, and interior lamps are not reported here.

- AFS (Adaptive Front-Lighting System): System for driving around curves. Horizontally adjustable beam headlights.
- ADB (Adaptive Driving Beam): System for high-beam driving. Automatic anti-glare headlights.
- AHB (Automatic High Beam): System for high-beam driving. Automatic low/high-beam switching headlights.
