ACT Expo 2026: Improvements to combustion engines; Hydrogen announcements
International, Mack, Cummins show engines for 2027 EPA; Hydrogen projects from Toyota, Forvia
Summary
The 2026 iteration of the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo, described by Trade Show Executive as the fastest-growing transportation show in the U.S., took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S. from May 4 through May 7, 2026. ACT Expo 2026 featured approximately 12,000 attendees, 410 exhibitors, and 200 vehicles on display across the exhibition floor and ride-and-drive demonstrations.
Highlighting the upcoming 2027 EPA emission standards, a number of OEMs and suppliers showcased upgraded combustion engines at ACT Expo 2026. International highlighted its S13 Integrated Powertrain and its individual components. Mack Trucks highlighted its new MP13 engine on its new Mack Granite vocational truck. Cummins’ exhibit displayed its upgraded 2027 X15 flagship engine.

For hydrogen systems, cellcentric showcased its BZA375 fuel cell system which it previously unveiled in March 2026. Toyota made multiple announcements during ACT Expo 2026 regarding its partnerships and future hydrogen deployments in North America. Finally, Forvia showed its partnership projects including a hydrogen-powered drayage truck developed with Symbio and Savage and a refueling station from Ivys Energy Solutions.
