2025 China Automotive Software Conference: AI + Smart Cars
From the presentations by Changan, CAIC, and Volcengine
Summary
The 2025 China Automotive Software Conference (CASC) was held in Shanghai Jiading on December 15-16, 2025. The conference, jointly organized by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) and Shanghai International Automobile City (Group) Co., Ltd., was held under the theme "Building a New Ecosystem with Software, Envisioning the Future with AI," with one closed-door session, one conference forum, and four thematic forums. The focus was on key issues in the field of automotive software such as state-of-the-art technology, standards building, and the dual drive of software and data.
Embodied intelligence is currently the main trend in next-generation AI, and smart cars have become the ideal application medium and testing ground for embodied intelligence. The two humanoid robots exhibited at the entrance to the venue intuitively embodied the concept of embodied intelligence. Through their demonstration of human-like form and movement, they vividly depicted the technological trend in which AI is evolving from a stage where it can "think" to a stage where it can "act and cooperate."
This report presents excerpts from some of the presentations from the conference forum and thematic forum 1, "AI + Smart Cars”. Chang'an Automobile Co., Ltd. (Changan) introduced the thinking and practice behind the "Changan AI Car". The China Automotive Innovation Corporation (CAIC) presented the technological competitiveness of high-end vehicles in the field of technology diffusion, and Beijing Volcano Engine Technology Co., Ltd. (Volcengine) presented the new paradigm of intelligent connected AI.
