Japan Mobility Show 2025: BYD, Geely, and Sharp EVs

  At the Japan Mobility Show 2025 (JMS 2025, organized by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. (JAMA), October 29 (Wed.) - November 9 (Sun.), 2025 at Tokyo Big Sight), exhibits by Chinese automakers and parts suppliers were also on display. This report will introduce the EV models on display.

  BYD, the world's top seller of electric vehicles, unveiled the RACCO prototype, a mini-EV designed exclusively for the Japanese market, and the Sealion 6 DM-i, the first model to be launched in the Japanese market that uses the DM-i platform. In the commercial vehicle category, the company also unveiled the T35, a light-duty electric truck made exclusively for Japan. Backed by the leading market share in the EV bus business in Japan, BYD offers a wide range of electrification solutions from public transportation to logistics. The company is accelerating its expansion into the Japanese market for both passenger cars and commercial vehicles.

  The Zeekr 009, a premium EV under the Geely Group, and the F11 VS, an EV commercial vehicle, were unveiled for the first time by Folofly Inc., a developer and seller of next-generation vehicles. Both models are scheduled to be launched in the Japanese market starting in 2026.

  Sharp presented for the first time its latest concept model of the LDK+ EV, which is based on the Model A, an EV of its parent company, Foxconn. The LDK+ focuses on "stopped time" and provides an "extended living room space”. The product is expected to be commercialized in 2027.
