Renault: Promoting EVs with Ampere and HEVs with Geely

Electric vehicle sales ratio to reach 50% in the European market in the first half of 2025

  The Renault S.A. (Renault Group) aims to be a next-generation automotive company focused on five business areas, promoting EVs and software (Ampere), internal combustion engines (ICE) and hybrids (HORSE Powertrain), High-end vehicles (Alpine), financing, energy, and mobility (Mobilize), and the circular economy (The Future is NEUTRAL).

  On December 9, 2024, the Renault Group announced how far the Group will still have to go to achieve its goal of being net zero-carbon in Europe by 2040 and worldwide by 2050. The Group reduced its CO2 emissions by 28% between 2010 and 2023. It is advancing electrification to reach a goal of cutting CO2 emissions by 35% by 2030.

  In its EV strategy, the Group collaborates with Ampere to develop EVs and EV batteries as well as to reduce costs. In addition, the Group also develops and sells HEVs. It has set up a joint venture, HORSE Powertrain, with Zhejiang Geely Automobile Co., Ltd. (Geely Automobile) to develop and produce hybrid powertrains and ICEs. In 2025, the Group is launching EVs including the Renault 4 E-Tech Electric and the Alpine A390, as well as HEVs such as the Dacia Bigster, and the Renault Austral and Espace facelifts.

  In its International Game Plan 2027, Renault announced a plan to manufacture eight new models (including five C/D segment models) in international markets outside Europe, with a global investment of EUR 3 billion. One out of three vehicles will be an EV or HEV. In 2025, Renault announced the Boreal, a new C-segment SUV designed for global markets outside Europe.
