Summary
Japan's largest automotive technology exhibition, the Automotive Engineering Exposition 2024, was held from May 22 to 24, 2024, at the Pacifico Yokohama convention and exhibition center. It was organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan, Inc. (JSAE). This report presents the HMI (Human Machine Interface) related exhibits among the many on display.
The HMI-related exhibits at this year's show did not include many groundbreaking new technologies, but there were many product proposals based on the application of existing technologies. In particular, there were many exhibits that applied transmitted lighting technology that enables operation and display in decorative areas, suggesting that simple HMIs that combine interior design and HMI are becoming a major trend.
