On May 24, 2024, the SAIC Group held the SAIC Motor New Energy Technology Conference and announced its “Seven Technology Foundations 2.0” action plan towards the next decade. “Seven Technology Foundations 2.0” includes the development of the "Nebula" BEV platform, the "Everest” electro-mechanical integrated architecture, the "Galaxy” electric-hydrogen integrated architecture, the "NetBlue" plug-in hybrid powertrain, the "NetGreen" electric drive system", the “Mofang” battery system, and the "Galaxy" intelligent vehicle full stack solution.
Z-One Technology Co., Ltd. (Z-One), a research and development company of intelligent vehicle technology under the umbrella of the SAIC Group, plans to mass-produce the Galaxy Full-Stack Solution 3.0 in 2025, and will focus on cost control and the challenges of Level 3 autonomous driving. In 2027, it will be upgraded to Galaxy Full Stack 4.0, focusing on human-like intelligent architecture and AI big models to support Level 4/Level 5 autonomous driving.
Shanghai SAIC QingTao Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (SAIC QingTao) a joint venture (JV) between SAIC Motor Corp., Ltd. (SAIC Motor) and solid-state lithium-ion battery company QingTao (Kunshan) Energy Development Group Co., Ltd. , will start construction of its first solid-state battery production line in the third quarter of 2024. In the first phase, the JV plans to have a production capacity of 0.5GWh and is expected to be completed in 2025. The plan is for solid-state batteries to be mass-produced in 2026 and implemented in vehicles in 2027.
