The 1st China Automobile Charging and Swapping Ecology Conference was held in the Fuyang District, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, December 19-21, 2023. The conference was co-hosted by the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance (EVCIPA), the Battery Exchange Subcommittee of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), and the People's Government of Fuyang District, Hangzhou, and included one closed-door conference, one main forum, and six thematic forums. The focus was on industry hot topics such as highway charging, high-quality charging services, swappable batteries, installing charging stations in rural areas, exporting charging stations, and V2G (Vehicle to Grid) technologies.

According to data from the EVCIPA, NIO Inc. (NIO) is currently the largest battery swap operator in China. In November 2023, NIO signed cooperation agreements with Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. (Changan) and Geely Automobile, respectively, in the battery exchange business, including swappable battery standards, establishment of battery swapping networks, research and development of battery-swappable vehicle models, and battery asset management. Mr. Fei SHEN, NIO Power Senior Vice President, gave a presentation on "How to Establish a Shared Battery Swapping Network" at the main forum, focusing mainly on the installation status of NIO's battery swap stations, the advantages and value of the battery swapping system, the path to standardization of passenger car battery swapping, and the battery swap station/battery asset management and operation model. This report is a brief summary of his presentation.
