The 20th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2023) opened at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). April 18-19 were press days for domestic and international media only, April 20-21 industry trade days, and April 22-27 for the general public. The theme of this year's event was "Embracing a New Era in the Automotive Industry”. More than 1,000 companies exhibited covering a total exhibition area of more than 360,000 square meters. Thirteen indoor exhibition halls were used to create a passenger car exhibit zone, an automotive technology and supply chain zone, and a media zone.
The Geely Holding Group ("Geely Group") exhibited its four major brands, Geely , Lynk & Co, ZEEKR, and Livan; Volvo Cars and its subsidiary Polestar, as well as its luxury brand Lotus, and other portfolio brands at the Shanghai Motor Show 2023 / Auto Shanghai 2023.
In the Geely brand Geely Galaxy series, the smart cockpit of the PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) model SUV Galaxy L7 was officially unveiled. The prototype of the Geely Galaxy New Energy Vehicle (NEV), the "Galaxy Light," was also unveiled for the first time. The Geometry E, Geometry M6, and Panda Mini were also exhibited at the same time. The Lynk & Co brand unveiled the Lynk & Co 08 EM-P, a Super Range Extender Solution PHEV mid-size SUV. Also on display were the concept car "The Next Day" and NEVs such as the Lynk & Co 01 EM-P, Lynk & Co 05 EM-P, Lynk & Co 06 PHEV, and Lynk & Co 09 EM-P. The Zeekr brand exhibited the ZEEKR X compact BEV SUV, the ZEEKR 009 luxury BEV MPV, the ZEEKR 001 luxury coupe-style shooting brake and the ZEEKR M-Vision concept car. In addition, the company officially unveiled its European strategy, and stated that its first models in the European market will be the flagship ZEEKR 001 shooting brake and ZEEKR X urban SUV. The Livan brand exhibited the new BEV SUV Livan 7 for the first time. Volvo Cars exhibited its new BEV flagship SUV, the EX90, for the first time in China. The Polestar brand unveiled its second model, the new D-segment electric SUV coupe Polestar 4, at Auto Shanghai 2023 for the first time in the world. Lotus exhibited three models: the Eletre SUV, the brand's first electric supercar; the Evija, an electric sports car; and the Emira, the last gasoline-powered Lotus brand vehicle.
