In-depth analysis of material quality and interior design
Summary
MarkLines Co., Ltd. (MarkLines) conducted a teardown survey of the BEV “Xiaomi SU7” developed by the smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi Corporation (Xiaomi) at its benchmark center established in 2024. The SU7 was launched in China in March 2024 and attracted significant attention after receiving more than 50,000 orders within 27 minutes of the start of reservations.
In this study, a partial teardown of the interior instrument panel was carried out. The analysis focused on design-related aspects such as material quality expression, styling design, and component configuration.
The vehicle examined was the standard version of the SU7, priced at CNY 215,900. It is equipped with a 73.6 kWh Blade Battery produced by BYD Company Limited (BYD) and has a CLTC driving range of 700 km. Fast charging from 10% to 80% takes approximately 25 minutes. The vehicle uses a single-motor rear-wheel-drive layout, delivering 220 kW of maximum output and 400 Nm of peak torque, with 0–100 km/h acceleration in 5.28 seconds. For driver assistance, it is equipped with Xiaomi Pilot Pro, which supports NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) on highways.
The SU7 is a Chinese-made EV that targets an exterior styling and performance range similar to the Porsche Taycan (priced at CNY 918,000) while keeping the price significantly lower. In 2025, it sold 260,398 units in the Chinese market, ranking 7th in China’s EV sales.
