U.S. Commerce Department rule would require GM, Ford to halt imports of cars built in China
Both General Motors and Ford would need to stop importing vehicles to the U.S. from China under a rule proposal to ban Chinese software and hardware, according to Liz Cannon, head of the Commerce Department's information and communications technology office after the announcement on September 23.
