VW to lay off 700 workers, suspend 2nd shift in São José dos Pinhais, Brazil
On April 28, Volkswagen announced it will suspend the second shift on the production line at its plant in São José dos Pinhais, Brazil where it produces the T-Cross SUV, laying off 700 workers on June 1 for a period of up to 5 months or more.
Approximately 2,200 employees normally work at the plant.
