U.S. auto sales dive 17.2% in August affected by production cuts, availability
U.S. new vehicle sales of 1,095,521 units for the month of August represented a 17.2% decrease from August 2020 as many North American auto plants were idled due to a shortage of semiconductors.
There were 25 selling days in August 2021, one less than the 26 selling days last August.
