VW to halt Beetle production in Puebla

Rey David García Avendaño, General Minister of the Independent Union of Workers of the Volkswagen Automotive Industry of Mexico, confirmed that the production of the Volkswagen Beetle at Cuautlancingo, Puebla, will end in the second half of July. The plant will then focus on the assembly of the Volkswagen Tiguan. No job or production losses are expected due to the halt of Beetle production, as the plant is expecting to manufacture another SUV in 2020, speculated to be the Tarek SUV.
