Hyundai Philippines records 6% sales decline in 2018

According to Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), Hyundai Philippines recorded sales of 35,401 units in 2018. The volume went 6% down from 2017’s full year performance of 37,678 units.
Hyundai’s passenger cars segment sales declined 22.0% to 19,905 in 2018. The strongest performer in the passenger cars segment remains the Accent which has contributed to 75.6% of total segment sales in 2018.
Light commercial vehicles segment was at the spotlight for 2018 as the brand’s growth driver. 2018 sales registered a total of 15,496 units sold, jumped 27.5% from 2017’s 12,149 units. Key contributors are Kona, Tucson, Grand Starex, and H-100.
