July vehicle sales in Thailand up 7.5%, July production up 3.3%

According to MarkLines Data Center, July vehicle sales in Thailand increased 7.5% year on year to 65,178 units. January - July sales were up 10.7% to 475,158 units.
By brand sales in July, Toyota was down 18.0% to 16,453 units. Isuzu was up 13.8% to 12,127 units and Honda was up 15.4% to 10,501 units. Mitsubishi sales were up 62.4% to 5,168 units, and Nissan sales were up 37.4% to 4,436 units.
By body type, passenger car sales were up 10.0% year over year to 26,799 units, while commercial vehicle sales were up 5.8% to 38,379 units. Pickup sales included in the commercial vehicle sales were up 5.4% to 30,741 units. The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) said that domestic sales in July increased on the back of launching of new models, increases of tourists and price of agricaltural products.
FTI announced that new vehicle production in July was 159,091 units, a 3.3% increase year on year. January - July production was down 3.3% to 1,110,057 units.
Vehicle exports in July were 90,015 units, down 9.2%. Vehicle exports from January to July were down 9.7% to 626,421 units.
The FTI's automotive industry club revised down its vehicle production forecast in 2017 to 1.93 million units from 2 million and vehicle shipment forecasts to 1.1 million units from 1.2million. The club revised up 2017 vehicle sales forecast to 830,000 units from 800,000 units.
