Spanish car sales increase 2.5% in July

On August 1, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations of 109,948 units in July 2017 represented an increase of 2.5% over July 2016.
Passenger car sales of 777,442 units in the first seven months of the year represented a 6.4% increase from the same period in 2016.
Renault sales increased 15.3% to 9,243 units, SEAT sales increased 10.5% to 8,467 units, Volkswagen brand sales increased 19.5% to 8,432 units, Opel sales decreased 6.1% to 7,593 units, and Peugeot sales decreased 9.3% to 6,871 units in July 2017.
The best-selling cars in July, in order of popularity, were the SEAT Ibiza, Renault Megane, SEAT Leon, VW Golf, and Citroen C4.
Of all vehicles sold in July, gasoline vehicles had a 47.5% market share, diesel vehicles had a 47.3% share, and hybrid car (HV) and electric vehicles (EV) combined had a 5.2% share.
Private car sales in July decreased 3.9% to 60,307 units, business sales increased 14.2% to 34,016 units, and fleet sales increased 5.9% to 15,625 units.
