Spanish car sales increase 6.5% in June, up 7.1% in first half of 2017

On July 3, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations of 131,797 units in June 2017 represented an increase of 6.5% over June 2016.
Passenger car sales of 667,494 units in the first half of the year represented a 7.1% increase from the same period in 2016.
Renault sales increased 5.1% to 12,361 units, SEAT sales increased 18.7% to 10,082 units, Volkswagen brand sales increased 0.5% to 9,874 units, Peugeot sales increased 4.7% to 9,572 units, and Opel sales decreased 10.6% to 9,372 units in June 2017.
The best-selling cars in June, in order of popularity, were the SEAT Ibiza, SEAT Leon, Renault Megane, VW Polo, and Citroen C4.
Of all vehicles sold in June, gasoline vehicles had a 47.7% market share, diesel vehicles had a 47.6% share, and hybrid car (HV) and electric vehicles (EV) combined had a 4.8% share.
Private car sales in June increased 3.6% to 60,432 units, business sales increased 23.5% to 37,075 units, and fleet sales decreased 3.2% to 34,290 units.
