Indonesian sales up 6.3% in May

Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in May were 94,123 units up 6.3% year over year. It was the 14th consecutive month of increases.
January - May sales were up 6.1% to 467,529 units.
By automaker sales in May, Toyota was up 3.6% y/y to 32,806 units and Honda was down 4.0% to 16,723 units. Daihatsu was down 2.0% to 15,613 units. Mitsubishi (including Fuso trucks) was up 41.2% to 11,217 units. Suzuki was up 49.2% to 9,207 units.
Backed by the increase of commodity prices and the infrastructure projects on the way, midium and heavy duty truck sales of Hino, Isuzu, and UD Trucks have been strong.
