April vehicle sales in Thailand up 15.1%, April production down 12.9%

According to MarkLines Data Center, April vehicle sales in Thailand increased 15.1% year on year to 63,267 units.
By brand sales in April, Toyota was up 19.9% to17,798 units. Isuzu was up 1.3% to 12,107 units and Honda was down 8.4% to 8,348 units. Mitsubishi sales were up 35.8% to 4,863 units, and Mazda sales were up 22.1% to 4,203 units.
By body type, passenger car sales were up 23.2% year over year to 25,493 units, while commercial vehicle sales were up 10.1% to 37,774 units. Pickup sales included in the commercial vehicle sales were up 10.8% to 30,602 units.
Vehicle sales from January to April stood at 273,757 units, up 15.7%.
The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) said that the market sentiment in Thailand is very good thanks to higher farm product prices, higher purchasing power in line with rising farm product prices and carmakers' new model launches during the four months.
New vehicle production in April decreased 12.9% to 120,473 units, while exports decreased 14.4% to 68,927 units, marking the lowest level in 48 months. Export value fell to THB 38.2 billion, down 11.4% year over year.
