Spanish car sales increase 1.1% in April, up 6.1% in first four months

On May 3, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations of 101,375 units in April 2017 represented an increase of 1.1% over April 2016.
Passenger car sales of 409,286 units in the first four months of the year represented a 6.1% increase from the same period in 2016.
SEAT sales jumped 44.1% to 10,494 units, Opel sales decreased 2.4% to 7,537 units, Renault sales decreased 4.3% to 6,861 units, Peugeot sales increased 9.3% to 8,088 units, and Volkswagen brand sales decreased 17.2% to 7,459 units in April 2017.
The best-selling cars in April, in order of popularity, were the SEAT Ibiza, SEAT Leon, Opel Corsa, Citroen C4, and VW Golf.
Of all vehicles sold in April, diesel vehicles had a 49.9% market share, gasoline vehicles had a 46.1% share, and hybrid car (HV) and electric vehicles (EV) combined had a 4.0% share.
