Spanish car sales jump 12.6% in March, up 7.9% in first quarter

On April 3, the automobile manufacturers association of Spain (ANFAC) announced that passenger car registrations of 125,600 units in March 2017 represented an increase of 12.6% over March 2016.
First quarter passenger car sales of 307,911 units represented a 7.9% increase from the same period in 2016.
SEAT sales increased 8.7% to 8,421 units, Opel sales decreased 3.9% to 8,933 units, Renault sales increased 37.6% to 9,809 units, Peugeot sales decreased 2.2% to 8,311 units, and Volkswagen brand sales increased 30.1% to 10,085 units in March 2017.
The best-selling cars in March, in order of popularity, were the VW Polo, Nissan Qashqai, Citroen C4, Renault Clio, and Opel Corsa.
Of all vehicles sold in March, diesel vehicles had a 49.9% market share, gasoline vehicles had a 46.2% share, and hybrid car (HV) and electric vehicles (EV) combined had a 4.0% share.
