Exclusive Interview
Univance Corporation
Mr. Hajime Fujisaki, Vice President
About This Interview
Univance Corporation (Univance), a specialized manufacturer of drivetrain units centered on transfer cases for four-wheel-drive systems, based in Kosai City, Shizuoka Prefecture, posted an operating profit of JPY 5.0 billion for the fiscal year ended March 2026. The company said that the result was mainly attributable to the foreign exchange effect resulting from the weaker yen. Amidst significant changes in the automotive industry's business environment, such as electrification and the rise of Chinese automakers, the company is focusing not on the "product" itself, but on "creating experiences" that provide the functionality beyond the product. MarkLines interviewed Vice President Hajime Fujisaki about Univance's response to electrification, overseas expansion, new businesses, and its business plans to 2030.
