Supply chain: Honda Freed

The Honda Freed is a compact minivan that underwent a full model change in June 2024; it is produced at the Saitama Factory Automobile Plant (Yorii). In addition to gasoline-powered models, a hybrid version equipped with the "e:HEV" two-motor hybrid system is available. Depending on the trim level, it comes with either three rows of seats or two rows of seats (Crosstar). Honda Group companies feature prominently in the supply chain, including Blue Energy for the lithium-ion battery, Mitsuba for the power sliding door system and motors, TS TECH for the seats, Sankei Giken for the muffler, Stanley Electric for the headlamps, and Astemo for the steering gear and shock absorbers. Supplies from foreign companies are also evident, including CVT shift components from Motherson Atsumitec, junction boxes and ABS actuators from Aumovio, interior lamps from Valeo, and timing chains from BorgWarner.
